CUET : Common University Entrance Test
Suppose if you are from state board and you have scored 85% marks overall in your relevant field. If your dream is to get admission in in Delhi university or any central university, so you can’t even imagine to be a student of Delhi university or any central university. The cutoff limit of these university is quite high and its beyond the imaginations of state boards students. It makes admission next to impossible to get admission in central universities.
Education is the right of everyone and competitive spirit can change the perspective of any students. A student who got 50% marks in 10th and 12th board can crack UPSC. In UPSC people are not judged by their board exams marks, They are judged by common entrance test. For engineering and medical colleges also there is a separate entrance test to get admission. So why not for arts, commerce and science field in central universities.
Higher education should be more accessible to students. It should be offered on the basis of entrance test not as per the board exams marks. So to fill this gap government has announced CUET for admission in central universities and other willingly participating university for admission of students.
CUET full form is common university entrance test. It provide a common platform and opportunity to students across the country, specially the students from rural areas and from lower income background. CUET has brought a hope to all the students who want higher education from central university in the field of arts, science and commerce.
India has multiple educational boards and marking system of each board is completely different so we can not discriminate the capabilities of students on the basis of boards results because in some boards students used to score very high marks but in some boards specially in state boards it is nearly impossible to get marks similar to boards ;like ICSE, CBSE, International boards after all possible efforts. So its like a dream for state boards students to get admission in Delhi university.
CUET is a computer based test which consist objective type questions so it wont create fatigue to teachers what they experience while checking answer sheets of conventional papers as well as it gives accurate result.
CUET is creating a path to low scorer students to revive their career and future. As there is no role of boards exams marks it does not mean that anyone can enroll for CUET. There is an eligibility criterion for registration. Students should have passed 12th board exam with minimum 50% marks from any affiliated educational board or any other equivalent examination. Students form the field of arts, commerce and science can apply through CUET to get admission in central universities.
Currently there are 45 central universities are working under the criteria of CUET. The courses which are offered in these universities are related to different streams like science, arts, commerce, computer application, business administration etc. Universities are offering UG and PG courses in different streams. The students who have passed the common university entrance test can get admission in these universities. There is no limit on number of attempts.
Students can get better exposure of learning, they can have better career options and skill development options if they are enrolled in renowned universities.
Now government is also planning to include IIT-JEE and NEET exams in CUET to make admission process easier to students.
